From cooking on wood to electrical stove... Mama's Caribbean continues the tradition with our firewood jerk chicken.

Back in the days, we transitioned from wood fire to charcoal to kerosene oil stove (mek yuh pot black yuh see) and to date all over Jamaica families use gasoline and all the above mentioned methods to prepare food except for the kerosene oil stove!

Waking up to the smell of the herbs in the food on a Sunday morning was the best!! We grew up in a farming community; we went to the market to either buy or sell ground provisions and herbs to prepare meals. This tradition inspired us to cook our meals with all natural seasonings; we don’t use powdered seasoning at all - just the good old herbs and you will get the same Sunday morning effect coming from mama’s Caribbean grill by just walking on central Ave
